The RSPCA as a charity will, by all lawful means, prevent cruelty, promote kindness to and alleviate suffering of all animals. That is our mission statement and we've been helping animals since 1824.
The centre where I work, Newport South Wales, has hundreds of animals passing through every year. We see all sorts of animals and all sorts of cases from abandonment, animals that need rescuing from difficult situations, mistreatment, cruelty, strays and people just not being able to look after their animals anymore. Our branch prioritises animals in need so we see a lot of cruelty cases.
We rehabilitate, socialise and get the animals back to 100% so that they can find new, happy homes where they will be loved and looked after. Every animal needs love, food and most importantly, time. They need the time to come to terms to their new surroundings, new people and a new way of life. Many of the animals have never been socialised with people or even with other animals. Some have lived in doors all their lives, have been roaming the streets, lived in tiny accommodation or tethered to the same spot.
It takes many hours of work with each animal to get them to come around and none of it is possible without donations.
Without donations, we can't carry on the work that we are doing now. At anyone time we can look after 35 dogs, 20 cats, 24 rabbits/ferrets and then the countless amount of small furries and birds. They all need food, comfort, exercising, warmth and veterinary attention. All of this costs money.
With your support and our expertise, so much more can be achieved!
Donations - £2.00 for up to 5 pictures in each class, £4 for unlimited entries.
Prizes - Really gorgeous Rosettes for the Champion and reserve for each division very kindly donated by Anne. To give as much money to the RSPCA, winners will be responsible for the cost of postage to receive their rosette.
Show opens - 27th April 2011
Shows closes - 27th May 2011
Please contact me for the Paypal address. Once a donation has been received, I will then send login information. Photo show is being held on Photobucket. All donations will be presented to the Newport branch in South Wales UK, where I work.
The show is split into OF, AR/CM and CTF. No performance because I would hate to think that I've placed one entry over another that wasn't right.
