Wow, I typed that to appear in two seperate columns, but somehow they ran together when it posted. Hmmmm........I'll type it again so it's easier to read....give my fingers a minute to rest first......

I'd put Welsh in Native, but if you'd rather show yours in Show Breeds then go ahead. ;D I guess people have different opinions, but I was going on breeding rather than looks, since all breeds of ponies are shown, it's not that important though, just thought I'd give it a try after they did it at Sydney Live. ;D
Stephanie, instead of re-typing it all you can edit your other post, there's a little button above it. ;D ;D

Yeah, ....MHOSS must be going by the look of the breed a bit more then the breeding of the breed. I don't have an Welsh, so I never asked them about it.
Thanks for pointing out the modify button....I will give that a try!

Thanks for making up the list, Stephanie! I went ahead and modified your post for you - hope that's OK! It was just easier to make it a single column rather than try to figure out how to put it in a table format - not enough coffee yet! LOL! I note that MHOSS (And TOPSA) include Icelandic Horses as "Ponies" - technically they are horses, and gaited horses at that. When I am judging, I am OK with them in Pony, Other Gaited (which is usually where I put them), or Other Pure, wherever the owner wishes to show them. But let me know if you'd like mine in Pony instead. Cheers, Kay

Oh, I do hear you on the Icelandics! I have asked and pointed out that fact about Icelandic ponies at most shows I show in/at. MHOSS is going by breeds "under 14 hands" and I have it pointed out to me that in the Icelandic language, there is no word for "pony". Half the groups I'm in see them as gaited, the other half as ponies. I see them as gaited ponies. LOL!
April--where to you want the Icelandics for this show? I'm happy with ponies or gaited. What about Fresians?
Fresians can be confusing too. They are considered light drafts, carriage breeds, other pure breeds, even Dutch breeds depending on the show.
Thanks for editing my entry Kay!!! I was horrified when they ran together like that!
Cheers! Stephanie.

Just as I was about to press Post Reply, my internet crashed. I got angry, calmed down and started typing again. Crash. Decided to type my reply onto Wordpad then copy & paste, then IT decided to die on me. Several attempts later, one broken pen and a VERY P.O April, I managed to re-type my whole lovely long answer including a list of what breeds I want in Native/Show. Went to hit reply, dead again. It's working fine now from another computer. I'm beginning to think I jinxed myself before about the virus thing! Aargh!! Now that I'm angry, Friesians go in Other Draft, Welsh ponies go in Native, Icelandics go in Gaited. Sorry to be blunt - lol! I'll get that list up tomorrow.

****Horsey Hugs April****
You should have seen me last night when the link for Pumpkin Fizz's breed crashed my computer with the Trojan Horse virus! It's funny now that it was a 'horsey' virus <grin>!

It's okay now, I've calmed down since last night! hehe. I'm running a scan on my computer and it's already telling me that it's found 949 errors. That would explain alot. Finally fixed Pumpkin's ear too. She tried to copy Gotcha but I didn't catch her - lol! I have since then moved them all to a better cabinet (actually, the Saddlebreds got a new one and the rest got the old one!) ;D These breeds will go into Show: - American Shetland
- American Walking Pony
- Australian Riding Pony
- Belgian Riding Pony
- French Saddle Pony
- Hackney Pony
- Miniature PONIES - Miniature Horses go in the Horse section.
- Riding Pony
- Welara
If you're unsure, do a search of the breed. Usually within the first sentance it will tell you if it's native to someplace or if it was developed etc. Eg. The Hackney Pony is a pony breed developed by primarily one man, Christopher Wilson. He used St. George, his Hackney Horse stallion foaled in 1866, to breed with Fell Pony mares, and then interbred the offspring to make a fixed type of pony. The Hackney Pony probably also has much Welsh Pony blood. Eg.2 The Bashkir Pony is an ancient breed that has lived in the inhospitable regions of the Ural mountains in the former USSR for thousands of years. Basically what I'm going for is 'original' breeds vs 'man-made' breeds, if that makes sense. Anyway, this show is all about fun and learning!! Keep those questions coming! ;D ;D The next show is going to be 100% different, I'm already planning it! If there's something you don't like about this show be sure to let me know!!

Hey, just wanted to let everyone know that the judging has been going slow because both April and I have been having lots of problems with photobucket. I got lucky and finally got my small part done, but April's problems with photobucket have been much worse than mine-- so severe she has had to email her tech support.
Has anyone else been having problems with photobucket lately? Such as suddenly being unable to organize the photos, going extremely slow or 'stuttering', vendor adds pulling up and taking over your entire screen for no reason and then you can only get rid of them by closing out photobucket entirely and going all the way back in. Photobucket has been outright crashing April's computer when she logs into it........
Boo! Not happy with photobucket right now!!
Stephanie.

I have had a little bit of trouble with PB as well. When I go to resize my photos, I have to write the description all over again..trust me, it's annoying! the ads don't really bother me that much if I Sweep my computer for spyware before I show or judge.

Boo! Not happy with photobucket right now!! I haven't had problems up until now, but this morning it started having issues whenever I would upload a photo. I get a "404" - "File not found" message. When I log back in, the photo has uploaded but I have to add the title information. It's making all this VERY SLOW. Cheers, Kay
